Here in the Whitsundays, where the ocean shifts between every shade of blue and the days unfold with ease, we’ve created a space to slow down, settle in and feel connected to this untouched part of the world.
On the hillside of Hamilton Island’s One Tree Hill, tucked into the landscape, you’ll find our two private homes: Cowries House and Jasmine House. Each is designed with the intention of comfort, style and calm, offering a different way to experience island life.
Cowries House
Cowries is the kind of place that opens up gradually. Spread across two levels, its shape and flow are designed to capture as much of the view as possible and from almost every room, the sea takes centre stage.
The interior is layered with natural textures and coastal tones, stone, timber, soft linens, with just enough polish to feel special. With space for up to ten guests, it’s generous without being overwhelming. There are four bedrooms (including a top-floor master suite with some of the best views on the island), and flexible options for families or small groups.
The open-plan living area is at the heart of it all. Doors slide back to let in the breeze, leading out to a wide deck and a private pool (heated in the cooler months). Whether it’s coffee at sunrise or a glass of wine under the stars, the space quietly shifts with the day.
Jasmine House
A little further along the ridge, Jasmine House offers something slightly softer in tone and more retreat than statement, with curved lines, shaded corners and a quiet sense of calm.
Like Cowries, Jasmine sleeps up to ten, with four light-filled bedrooms, two of which are master suits and a layout that works just as well for families as it does for couples travelling together. Large doors open the living space to the outside, where you’ll find a shaded dining area, a private pool, and leafy surrounds that offer privacy without shutting out the view.
It’s a home that feels easy to live in. Mornings are unhurried, afternoons stretch long, and everything flows together, indoors and out, social and still.
Thoughtful Details
We’ve tried to make the experience here feel seamless from the moment you arrive. Valet transfers from the airport or ferry terminal are included, so there’s no need to think about logistics. Once you’re here, everything you need is at hand, including full kitchens, laundry facilities, air con, Wi-Fi, Nespresso machines, smart TVs and SAYA skincare products.
Both houses are also well set up for families, with space to spread out and options for infants and younger guests (including portable cots, highchairs, and extra beds if needed). Whether you’re travelling as a couple, a family or a few friends, our hope is that you feel completely at home.
A Different Pace
Staying at the ALANI holiday homes isn’t about ticking off a list of things to do, it’s about settling into a different rhythm. Here, the pace naturally slows. Mornings might start with a quiet swim or a walk up the hill as the sun rises. Days drift easily between moments spent by the pool, long lunches with a view, or exploring nearby coves by boat or buggy. Evenings are for watching the light change, sharing stories over dinner, or simply listening to the breeze move through the palms.
The houses are a part of the landscape, designed not to compete with the views but to sit gently within them. And just like the island itself, they invite you to let go and lean into something quieter, simpler, and maybe a little more essential.
